Once again, we continue with our review of Pakistani Online stores. Today we review Export Leftovers. Export Leftovers is an online clothing store. However, in recent times it has started to diversify, and caters to a much larger group.
I have bought clothes online before, however, each and every time, I was always disappointed. The product was always of poor quality and in some cases, completely different from what was shown on the website. However, I chose to ignore these things because the items I bought were low priced, usually between Rs. 400 and Rs. 600.
Then a friend recommended Export Leftovers. He told me that he had personally tried their products and he was very happy. So I decided to give them a try.
Website and Layout:
When you open up their website you are greeted with a big banner on the page, showing current deals, new products, etc. Scrolling down you see more of the same. The website looks neat and clean with an emphasis on pictures (which is good considering this is an online store)
The top navigation menu gives you main categories and hovering over a category shows you subcategories. Export Leftovers uses the standard view which most e-commerce websites adopt. Hence navigation will not be a problem
Searching for the product:
I was looking for some new tee-shirts. So I immediately hovered over the clothing category and behold, I immediately saw a sub category for tee-shirts.
Upon clicking the tee-shirt sub category I was redirected to that page. The page contained a few filters like price, name and position. I would have like if they had a filter for colour and size.
Once you click on a product, you will be redirected to that product’s page, the page contains a few details about the shirt, such as material and GSM. Moreover, it also has a Sizing Guide which helps in choosing which size would fit you.
The website also has a quick view option. Clicking the option opens up a window on the page and lets you choose the size and add the product to cart. Unfortunately, I found this feature useless since it did not show the sizing guide. Hence, I had to navigate to the product page anyway.
The checkout process at Export Leftovers is pretty simple. You can check out as a guest and they require the basic info, such as name, number, email and address. One thing to note is that they charge an additional Rs. 200 shipping charges if your total order amount is less than Rs. 1,500
After the checkout, I received an email stating my order details and that my items would be delivered within 3 working days. There was no call confirmation for the order. I believe that export leftovers should start calling customers before shipping products. This would be good for the customers and vendors since anyone could place an order on Export Leftovers as a prank and no one would be accountable.
The product was delivered on time and in good condition. The product was delivered in a sealed bag and the shipping was handled by leopards Courier.
This time, before the product was delivered, I received a message from Leopards Courier saying that my parcel would be delivered in 24-48 hours and to keep the amount ready when the rider came to deliver the goods. The message service is a great value addition by Leopards Courier, however, the parcel arrived within 6 hours instead of 24-48 hours.
The message service is a great initiative, and with a little fine tuning, it can help the customer greatly.
Now this is the most important thing for me. As mentioned earlier, I was greatly disappointed with my previous purchases, hence, I was not expecting a lot. Especially since the shirts cost between rupees 400-600.
However, when I opened up the parcel I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. It may not be a great shirt, however, it was worth every rupee I paid for. The product looked as it was mentioned on the website and the material was also at par.
The overall impression was good. The website looks decent, the product was shipped quickly and the best part was that the product received was actually good. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not a great shirt, but it’s good value for money.
Would I shop Again?
Yes. I would shop again. Actually I have shopped from their store twice and have not been disappointed yet
